Chompion Dog Chew Toy

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

The Chompion is a chew toy that is designed in the shape of a barbell with nubs on the ends.  The nubs are good for keeping Buddy’s teeth clean and gums healthy.  The ends are hollow making it possible to insert treats into the balls.  We have found that Buddy can be entertained for quite a while by doing this.  It took him a little while to figure out how to get the treats out, but now he has no trouble at all.   He really enjoys playing with the Chompion and it has proven itself quite durable.  We do recommend, as with all dog toys, that you supervise your pet while they are playing with it.  We let buddy take it into his crate and he was then able to tear the end off it.

We have purchased three of the Chompions and have made it a staple in Buddy’s toy box.  On our current Chompion, Buddy was able to detach the end balls from the center piece (it was molded as a single piece, so it took some work on his part), this now gave him new toys to play with.  On average the Chompion has lasted about 2 months with Buddy playing with it for several hours a day.    This toy is appropriate for any medium to large dog and is durable enough for a powerful chewer.  At a price of about $9, this is a great toy.  Keep an eye out for pictures and video of Buddy and his Chompion.  We definitely give the Chompion a 4-paw rating.
